The Hotdish Revolution

In April, 2013, the Holland Neighborhood Improvement Association (HNIA) held its Ninth Annual Hotdish Revolution - the neighborhood's biggest fundraiser. As usual, many members of the community entered their most creative, delicious hotdishes, and the approximately 400 participants were treated to samples of these gastronomical concoctions as well as tasty dishes provided by local restaurants. A panel of local celebrity judges - including seven Mayoral candidates - awarded prizes in various hotdish categories, as well as the best Jell-O category. The event also featured a display of the vintage posters by Carol Nagan from previous Hotdish events and the sounds of "Dan the accordion man".

A new addition to this year's event was a NE Brew District beer tasting- including flights of beer from five Northeast brewers. And, HNIA used the event to launch the Medallion Public Arts Connector, a new initiative to connect residents, local businesses, and artists in the common work of raising funds for public/community arts projects and education.
