Neighborhood Representatives Elected to the 2007 NRP Policy Board

December 13, 2006 - Four representatives and four alternates were elected at the annual NRP Policy Board Neighborhood Representatives Election - held last night at the Crown Roller Mill Building. Electors appointed by their neighborhoods voted in the At-Large election as well as in one of three NRP "Neighborhood Type" elections - Protection, Redirection or Revitalization.

For the At-Large position, Debbie Evans was re-elected as the representative and Nicholas Kakos was elected as the alternate. For the Protection position, Jeffrey Strand was re-elected as the representative and Carletta Sweet was elected as the alternate. For the Redirection position, Carol Pass was elected as the representative and Tom Bissen was elected as the alternate. For the Revitalization position, Beverly Conerton was elected as the representative and Mark Hinds was elected as the alternate. These representatives and alternates will serve a one-year term during 2007.

Over 100 people attended the election. The League of Women Voters of Minneapolis conducted the election, which included candidate forums and voting. The League has been a partner with NRP in this process for many years.
