NRP Program Income Amendment Proposed for City's NRP Ordinance

January 4, 2006 - An NRP Program Income amendment to the City's NRP Ordinance being proposed for adoption by the Minneapolis City Council. Last August the City Council adopted a resolution which committed program income resulting from NRP funded activities to NRP eligible uses in the neighborhood that provided the original funding. At that time, the Council also directed City staff to draft an amendment that would make the policy on program income part of the City's NRP Ordinance.

Staff from Community Planning and Economic Development (CPED), the Development Finance Division of the City, and the City Attorney's Office worked together to draft the amendment. NRP staff reviewed the draft for consistency with the NRP's Policy on Program Income that was adopted on October 24, 2005.

The draft ordinance amendment is scheduled to be discussed at a public hearing of the Community Development Committee on February 14. You may provide comments in person, by attending the Committee hearing, or in writing prior to the hearing. Written comments submitted by February 2 will be summarized for the report prepared by CPED staff to the Community Development Committee. Comments received after February 2 will be provided at the Community Development Committee hearing.

Written comments on the draft amendment may be submitted by email to Jeff Schneider at jeff.schneider@ci.minneapolis.mn.us or by regular mail to:
