Forty-five homes in Minneapolis and 18 in Saint Paul will be featured on the Minneapolis & Saint Paul Home Tour Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8. Homes on the free, self-guided tour will be open Saturday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 8, 1-5 p.m.
This "celebration of city living" has residents opening their doors to real homes and creative remodeling ideas for home additions, kitchens, bathrooms, and master suites. New ownership opportunities, from adaptive reuse of historic buildings for lofts and condos, to neighborhood-assisted renovations, are also on the tour.
Home Tour Guides with maps, driving directions and descriptions of all 63 homes are available at local libraries in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Hennepin and Ramsey Counties. The Guide will be included in the April 30 StarTribune Homes section through most of the Twin Cities. An electronic version of the guide is also at www.msphometour.com
. To volunteer, to nominate your home for next year's tour, or for other questions about the tour, call Margo Ashmore at 612-673-5140.
The Minneapolis & Saint Paul Home Tour is coordinated by the Minneapolis NRP (Neighborhood Revitalization Program) with numerous public partners including Minneapolis Community Planning and Economic Development and Saint Paul Planning and Economic Development and Housing 5000, corporate and non-profit sponsors.
